New Riedhammer Kiln for Refratechnik China

Riedhammer GmbH, a Nuremberg based company of the Sacmi Group, successfully completed delivery and commissioning of a 112-m high-temperature tunnel kiln in the plant of Refratechnik Yingkou in China.

This is a company of the German Refratechnik Group which is a producer of high quality basic refractories mainly for the cement industry. The kiln is designed for a firing temperature of 1800 °C for the production of basic refractory bricks and is equipped with a heavy oil firing system. One of several significant design points is the flat suspended roof over the whole length of the kiln, and this combined with an innovative control system achieves an excellent temperature distribution, high productivity and low energy consumption. The special modular design of the kiln allowed a short realisation time frame of 9 months from order placement to successful commissioning. Riedhammer built this kiln in close cooperation with Sacmi Shanghai, whereby a large part of the kiln was manufactured and sourced in China, the key components being delivered from Germany. This order was a further important step for Riedhammer into the biggest refractory market in the world, which has been in the past dominated by local manufacturers.
