MAGNA: From the Mine to the Steel Mill for 75 Years

MAGNA is one of the world’s leading companies as a vertically integrated producer of magnesium oxide (MgO) based solutions and materials for the steel industry, agriculture and environmental sectors. The company is headquartered in Spain and has 275 employees.
As a mining and industrial company, MAGNA is dedicated to the extraction and processing of magnesite from its mines in Spain. Since 1945, MAGNA has been exploiting the magnesium deposit of Eugi (Navarra/ES), and since 2017 in Borobia (Soria/ES). Its production process takes place in its factory in Zubiri (Navarra/ES). Total sales 2018 reached EUR 80 Mio (280 000 t, the lions share with 220 000 t was for refractories). The refractory division operates subsidiaries in North America and Mexico.
The company, which has been part of the GROUPE ROULLIER multinational since 2000, is extremely export-oriented, with its products present in more than 60 countries. MAGNA’s reference list includes the leaders of the steel industry with an extensive history. Javier Creixell (JC) is the CEO of MAGNA and has been with the company for 13 years.
