Abstract
The lifetime of a RH-degasser refractory lining was modeled mathematically using the latest calculation methods. Areas for the possible formation of thermal cracks and approximate installation lifetime for specified conditions of use were determined as a result of the calculations. The results obtained do not conflict with existing experimental data. Calculation algorithms can be used in the development and design of new refractory linings.Refractory Technology Group, Tata Steel, Jamshedpur/India
