ALUMINIUM Middle East 2013

Launched in 2009, ALUMINIUM Middle East will return for its 3rd edition at Sheikh Saeed Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, from the 23–25April 2013. This is the sole event representing the exciting industry developments in the region leading up to a forecast of 5 Mt to be produced annually by 2015. Recent data estimates regional key players sell 50 % of current output to Asia and are expecting US sales to rise and new markets to emerge from Iraq and the „Arab Spring“ nations, such as Egypt, Tunisia and Libya. In addition increased demand for aluminium billets is anticipated. Upstream main players consist of Aluminium Bahrain, Dubai Aluminium, Egypt Aluminium, Qatar Aluminium, Ma’aden Aluminium and Emirates Aluminium. Downstream industry development is expected to increase due to the construction projects taking place across the Gulf with the hotel and hospitality sectors on top of the list. Another downstream industry development highlight is the high growth potential in the transportation sector with a GCC investment of USD 106 billion. Other project development opportunities are on the way, and include the Abu Dhabi government’s Khalifa Industrial Zone (KIZAD), which is worth USD 7,2 billion and is expected to propel several sub-sectors of the industry such as fabrication and surface treatment. In the next several years, the Gulf governments’ diversification efforts to move towards non-oil industries will continuously support these industry developments. In 2013, ALUMINIUM Middle East will introduce the Business Matching Making Service which is specifically designed to connect top quality buyers, agents and distributors with exhibitors before, during and after the exhibition.
