Morgan Thermal Ceramics to Supply Refractory Modules to SATORP Refinery Project
Morgan Thermal Ceramics received the order from KTI Corporation, which is supplying the fired heaters for a portion of the SATORP project. SATORP will be installing prefabricated Superwool panels into six fired heaters at the facility located in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Insulation used for this portion of the 46,24 Ml/d refinery and petrochemical project is composed of non-refractory ceramic fiber being low biopersistent alkaline earth composition fibers that have been engineered for high temperature insulation applications. The modules have a continuous use limit of 1150 °C, when constructed using Superwool 607HT. The SATORP project is the largest fired heater application in which such modules have been used. The new fired heater linings will be designed in US, the refractory modules are being manufactured in Thermal Ceramics Korea, and the Superwool 607 HT vacuum formed peep frames and plugs are being manufactured in Thermal Ceramics Canada (07/2011).
