German Refractory Company Intocast AG Will Open a Sales Office in the U.S.

According to a release, Intocast/DE will take space at Silo Studios. The office will support Intocast’s presence in the region and its expansion in North America, as the company is planning to open a refractory plant in West Tennessee in Huntingdon. The release does not include the number of employees to work from the office.

In March 2024, Intocast and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced the company will invest a minimum of USD 15 million related to the factory, to be located at the Huntingdon Industrial Park South (one of the state’s Select Tennessee Certified Site properties). The move is expected to yield about 100 jobs. Headquartered in Ratingen, Germany, Intocast is a supplier of refractories and casting auxiliaries for the steel and foundry industries. The company operates 12 Germany facilities and 19 foreign sites, according to its website. Founded in 1979, Intocast employs approximately 2000 individuals and generates about EUR 450 million (the equivalent of about USD 511 million) annually in revenue.
