5th International Symposium on Advances in Refractories V (ISAR 2010) – The Michel Rigaud Symposium

The Symposium will provide an opportunity for manufacturers, users and academics to share their technical achievements in producing, testing or characterizing bricks, monolithics and insulating refractories for metallurgical industries: Refractories for the iron and steelmaking industries Refractories for the aluminium industry Refractories for the heavy non-ferrous metals industries (Cu, Ni, Au, PGM’s, etc…) Refractories for other industries (cement, lime, petrochemical, incineration, ceramics, etc…) Refractories for gasification and recycling of refractories Alumina, mullite and magnesia-based refractory castables and other monolithics Testing methods for shaped and unshaped refractories Thermodynamic and thermo-mechanical characterization of refractories and their interactions with liquid and gaseous environments in industrial furnaces Refractories synthesis, sintering and characterization. This symposium is being held in honour of Michel Rigaud as part of the Conference of Metallurgists 2010 organized by the Metallurgical Society of CIM and is co-sponsored by the Refractory Ceramics Division of the American Ceramic Society and The Refractories Institute.
