Sibelco Acquires QMAG Limited

The major activities of QMAG are mining, beneficiation and the production ofdead burned, electrofused and calcined magnesia products at their mine and production facilities in Rockhampton. Campbell Jones, CEO of Sibelco Australia, said “The QMAG acquisition includes an extensive, world class magnesite resource at Kunwarara”. Founded in 1872, Sibelco is a multinational business operating over 200 production sites in 41 countries with a team of over 11000 employees. Sibelco began operations in Australia and New Zealand in 2000. Sibelco holds a long term view and absolute commitment to safety, the environment, the communities within which it operates and the satisfaction of its customers. Sibelco has expanded the business to now employ approximately 1400 people operating a network of over 45 mines, plants, sales offices and distribution warehouses. Sibelco supplies products to the glass, mining, agriculture, construction and manufacturing industries (4/2012).
