Carbon 2012: Annual World Conference on Carbon

The Polish Carbon Society was entrusted by the European Carbon Association with the organization of this event, bringing together the whole carbon community of the world. Carbon 2012 will be organized under the patronage of Prof. Antoni Tajdus, the rector of the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH UST) in Krakow. The AGH UST is one of the largest technical universities in Poland with a rich history relating to carbon materials and mining industry. The university was established in 1919, formerly known as the University of Mining and Metallurgy. The faculties of the AGH UST, among others, Faculty of Fuels and Energy, Faculty of Material Science and Ceramics, Faculty of Mining and Geoengineering as well as the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas deal with carbon science and carbon-based material technologies for various applications and key carbon topics. Carbon 2012 is an international conference dedicated to the latest advancements in the science, technology and applications of carbon. The conference will provide a forum for academic and industrial researchers, engineers, students and innovators to summarize the recent achievements and research activities  made in  the area of carbon. The aim of the conference is also to facilitate and promote the need of international collaboration and knowledge exchange in carbon materials, while preserving the dynamic competitiveness in research and its commercial applications.
